Alain Fuchs was named president of the CNRS  on January 10, 2010.  University professor at UPMC and ex-CNRS research director, Alain Fuchs has been running Chimie ParisTech (Paris École nationale supérieure for Chemistry) since January 2006.  He has chaired ParisTech’s nuclear energy program since 2008.
