Marie Landel awarded the insignia of the Chevalier in the National Order of the Legion of Honor

On May 3rd, 2010, The French Consulate in Boston congratulated Marie Landel for being awarded the insignia of the Chevalier in the National Order of the Legion of Honor.

This medal recognizes outstanding achievements that she has rendered to France, and that have been illustrated throughout many years by her career, her accomplishments, and her unwavering dedication.  Above all, this is the testimony of France’s recognition of Marie Landel.  She started the company “Marie Landel Associates” on her own and then developed into what it is today.  This is not just any company — it is dedicated to fostering the establishment of foreign companies in the US, notably the French and very often small businesses.  She knows exactly how to complement their efforts in a useful and efficient manner.  “Marie Landel Associates” provides not only a strong level of support that goes beyond the role of a service provider, but also a selfless accompaniment to its clients.

The Consulate wishes to emphasize Marie’s merits regarding her dedication to the business community.  She presided over the French-American Chamber of Commerce in New England for three years, and succeeded in giving a new impetus and involving more members through an expansion of its activities and its influence.  Another of Marie’s activities for which France is particularly grateful is her commitment to the Conseillers de commerce exterieure de la France, the advisors of foreign trade of France.   She also had a decisive role in the development of the section which now comprises twenty business leaders, volunteers to the mission of developing commercial and industrial relations between France and the United States.  Boston is now proudly on the map of the CCEF in America.  Thanks to her, the section also offers support to French companies who are approaching the US market, and Boston in particular.   It also promotes the development of American companies in France, through the Consulate’s “Young Entrepreneurs Initiative” which she helps along in practical ways.

Marie Landel alone is a collaborative French-American venture.  She has become one of the most prominent U.S.-based business woman in France.

This is just the beginning.
